The Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Association, a.k.a. the Pleasant Grove Baptist Association, has been approved as a tax exempt 501 (c) (3)  Non-Profit charitible organization.  Our effective date of Exemption is as of September 12, 1977.   Therefore, any contributions are tax deductible  as a Public Charity under section 170 (b) (1) (A) (i) of the code.

We would be pleased to accept any contributions, bequests, devises, transfers or gifts, given to benefit the work of the Association according to our stated purposes.   These bequests, devises, transfers, gifts, or contributions are tax deductible under sections 170, 2055, 2106, and 2522 of the tax code.  Any contributions can be made to; Pleasant Grove Baptist Association,  P.O. Box 97, Brookwood, AL., 35444-0097.

We have several main purposes as spelled out in our Constitution, some of them are as stated:  "The Purpose of this Association shall be to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to edify the churches in the Word of God.  It shall foster fellowship, Christian living, and spread unity among the affiliated churches in cooperation with the Alabama Baptist State Convention and the Southern Baptist Convention."

We also have a secular purpose as stated in our application for tax exemption.  That is, to be an effective partner with other Baptist Associations in our State, the Alabama Baptist State Board of Missions, and in partnership with the American Red Cross, to meet the needs of those who suffer the affects of natural or man-made disasters in the local communities of Brookwood, McCalla, Vance, Abernant, Coaling, Tannehill, Searles,  Adger, Woodstock, and the surrounding areas.

We are in the process of providing training  to any and all volunteers from our churches in Disaster Relief duties of interest.  We have men trained in working with Chain Saws to remove small trees and branches off houses and land without pay or compensation of any kind.   We offer this free service to any and all who need the help without discrimination of any kind.  We have volunteers who are trained in fixing meals with others who have Disaster Relief kitchens set-ups.  We are well on our way to equip a Disaster Relief Chain Saw Team Trailer for our Association.  We have Ham Radio Operators, Chaplains, and trainied Child Care Workers also trained for Disaster Relief.

We offer emergency clothing, shoes, and/or food supplies to those who need it.   The "Christian Ministries Center" is housed in our Associational Building, on 16995 Waldon Pond Road in Brookwood.  Consider this "your opportunity" to contribute in ministry to our neighbors.   We need additional volunteers to run the Christian Ministries Center and to work behind the scenes.   Cash or check donations can be made to; Pleasant Grove Baptist Association, in the memo line put for the "Christian Ministries Center".  Mail it to:  P.O. Box 97, Brookwood, AL 35444-0097.

We are also voluntary members of the "Compassion Coalition of Tuscaloosa County, Inc."  The core of Compassion Coalition of Tuscaloosa County, Inc. is to provide essential and effective volunteer actions from the faith-based community to meet the needs of others in times of disaster responses and other crucial periods as defined by Tuscaloosa County Emergency Management Agency. As a vital puzzle piece in Voluntary Organizations Active in Disasters (VOAD), Compassion Coalition members work closely with Tuscaloosa County social service agencies to effectively serve those in need.
